Pan American Airways’ Martin M-130, the “China Clipper,” completes the first trans-Pacific flight by a commercial passenger airliner when it arrives at Hong Kong after a flight from San Francisco Bay, California. The China Clipper had taken off on April 21st with 7 revenue passengers, proceeding across the Pacific Ocean by way of Hawaii, Midway Island, Wake Island, Guam, Manila, Macau, and finally Hong Kong.
