Aeronautique Militaire Francais (French Military Aviators) 1916

1/48 scale
Kit No. 8511
Cost: $12.00
Decals: None
Comments: Nice addition to World War I French fighter kits

The Kit

Eduard’s kit is molded in grey and consists of 6 detailed injection molded figures that will complement any French World War I aircraft kit nicely. The kit consists of a pilot in a full flight suit and leather cap; 2 more pilots in regulation French blue service dress; and 3 ground crew. A ladder is also included.

The kit comes on two sprues and has detailed molding with delicate folds in the clothing that is reminiscent of Tamiya or DML’s 1/35 scale military miniatures. The subtle sculpting depicts facial expressions clearly. One of the ground crew figures is bare-headed, the suited pilot sports a leather flying helmet, and the remaining figures wear the fatigue cap of the French Air Force. Finally, there is a detailed paint guide, augmented by the color illustrations on the box top.

Conclusion

This is a great kit for modelers wishing to add realism to an aerodrome scene or diorama. Highly recommended.
